The Washington Post Company to Webcast Shareholders Day on September 11, 2009

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sep. 3, 2009-- The Washington Post Company (NYSE:WPO) will provide a live webcast of its Shareholders Day presentations on September 11, 2009.

Shareholders Day is being held to give stockholders an opportunity to learn more about the Company’s rapidly changing education and media operations. Donald E. Graham, chairman and chief executive officer of The Washington Post Company, will give a brief overview, followed by presentations by the managers in charge of Kaplan, Cable ONE, Post–Newsweek Stations, The Washington Post and Newsweek. The Company’s management also will respond to questions about our business operations.

The presentations will begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at about 12:15 p.m. Attendance at Shareholders Day is restricted to Washington Post Company stockholders.

Those who wish to hear the live webcast should allow 15 minutes to access the homepage of the Company’s website, www.washpostco.com; click on the Shareholders Day link; and register for the webcast. Stockholders may submit questions about business matters via the webcast link or by email to shareholders@washpost.com.

Following the event, an audio replay of the webcast and supporting materials will be posted on the Company’s website.
