WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 30, 2006--Veronica Dillon will be named vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of The Washington Post Company (NYSE:WPO). She will assume her new position on January 2, 2007, after the retirement of Diana M. Donald Graham, chairman and chief executive officer of The Washington Post Company, said: "Ronnie Dillon has been a key member of the management team at Kaplan, Inc., for 15 years and her extraordinary talents as a lawyer and businesswoman have contributed greatly to our success. I am thrilled she will join our corporate office as general counsel."

"Diana Daniels has guided us for many years through complex legal and regulatory waters with tremendous skill," Graham said. "During her 28 years with the Company and at several divisions, Diana has demonstrated her sharp legal mind and her keen insight, and we are all the better for having had access to her wise counsel. We will miss her."
