Cherie Kummer, vice president-tax, joined Graham Holdings Company in 2014 as director of tax. Responsible for oversight and leadership of the Company’s global tax function, Kummer is a seasoned executive with extensive expertise in SEC, federal and state tax controversy, corporate federal and state tax planning and compliance, and international tax matters.
Prior to joining Graham Holdings Company, Kummer was the managing director of tax at Grant Thorton. Throughout her career, she has held a myriad of senior roles in tax throughout her career with Freddie Mac, Ernst & Young, LLP and Deloitte. Kummer began her career at Arthur Anderson.
Kummer holds an MS in Accounting from the University of Colorado, and a BA in business administration from Briar Cliff College. Kummer is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
